Wife bought me uncharted 2 GOTY edition equally a used game from Gamestop. The girl at the counter went and grabbed a disc and put it into the container she says. Not thinking to check wife kept it as gift and tossed receipt. I went to play information technology today and put the disc in and son of a...it's uncharted 1 complete with uncharted 1 manual, uncharted two manual and the uncharted GOTY codes not scratched off.

What practise y'all call back my chances of getting this resolved without a receipt? Does this happen often?

i would merely tell em the state of affairs, i call back it may work out fine. that is a pretty old game which i would call back is pretty cheap by now. the aforementioned thing happened to me when i got my ps3. i went and bought all of the one-time ratchet and clank games and jak and daxter, but when i went to play ratchet and clank 2 they put the 3rd 1 in there on accident. granted i had the receipt, they didn't hesitate to ready it when i went in the store.

I blame the married woman. Thank you, sounds like it should work out.
I have to tell you lot I actually bought a used game terminal year onetime, and the gamestop dude did not put the disk in keep case. :D

I went dorsum later that day, and as soon as I walked in the door the guy saw me and smiled. The game and sleeve were still on the counter waiting for me.

just take it dorsum and be polite.

I went habitation and opened a "NEW" game, considering all games at that place are opened, and in that location was no game within at all.

went in, and they gave it to me no hassle at all.

I'm certain if it would have been a hassle I would immediately inquire for an inventory cheque before calling home office and making a big deal out of it.

if you are talking to the guys at the front desk-bound, they might get carried away and forget the procedure of inserting the game in the box.

This. Be polite and you'll have no bug. It helps to possibly give a fourth dimension you were in there and describe the person who was your cashier.

+2 at being polite. If they give you problem, ask them to check confronting their quantity on paw for both SKUs.

Usually it's not too hard to get Gamestop to fix these mistakes (new or used, really) assuming you return it to the same store you bought it from. Their inventory numbers would show them +1 a re-create of the game you lot bought and -1 the one they gave you lot.

I had a very good experience from there a couple days ago- pre ordered Fight Night Champion for PS3- picked it up, opened it then realized I was a impaired ass for loading an xbox 360 game in to my ps3....went back and they swapped it for the ps3 due west/ no issue. (information technology was their fault after all for grabbing the incorrect system, but still I was worried since the game had been opened...)

Went dorsum virtually 5 days later to return information technology for store credit- it wrang up every bit $25, but since the demand was high, they swapped information technology for a $sixty pre guild for Dragon Age two. Very impressed westward/ their customer service overall.

(it was their mistake later all for grabbing the wrong arrangement, but all the same I was worried since the game had been opened...)

Went back virtually v days later to render it for store credit- it wrang up every bit $25, but since the demand was high, they swapped it for a $60 pre society for Dragon Age 2. Very impressed due west/ their customer service overall.

Gamestop here past me is very adept. they had a used game sale on. I placed and reserved my 3 games. Going out the door, my son calls. Automobile is expressionless. Off to ready, by the time we are done I am too tired and its too belatedly.
I get the next day, Sorry, sale ended yeasterday. Information technology was a Purchase one become 2 costless sale. I said I take my "Cyberspace reserve from yesterday. So yous can see its legit merely I had to help my son tin can you do anything". Nail. No prob, rang it up and out I walked a customer for life.

Yup, say what you volition virtually GS prices and the manner they care for "new" games... but they attempt to make information technology up to you in service if you ever take a legit result.

Yup, say what you will about GS prices and the fashion they treat "new" games... simply they try to make it upward to you lot in service if you ever accept a legit issue.
I'd exist sure to have great client service also if I was making that much coin by cutting developers out of the profit stream.

I'd be certain to have smashing customer service besides if I was making that much money by cutting developers out of the profit stream.
How exactly is GS "cut developers out of the profit stream"?

How exactly is GS "cutting developers out of the profit stream"?
I guess by buying and selling used games? Meh, the whole thing is overblown anyway. Used sales happen in practically every other industry but no one complains as much as game publishers.

And remember, GS sells NEW games likewise, and quite a lot of them. I'1000 certain they do more to help the game industry than they do to hurt information technology.

I only buy from GS if the price is close to Amazon's used price. If not I don't mind waiting a couple days. This is usually only the instance when the game has been out for at least a year or more.

Yeah at that place's a game I want to buy that's less than $20 (new) at Amazon but over $30 (used!) at GS.

Once in a while they have okay deals though, or at least they're somewhat close. The main reason I purchase from GS is if there's a game I want right now, similar if I have friends over or something.

Called up the store and asked if I could get to some other store closer by. He said best to bring it back to the original store so they could check inventory. His exact words - "Yeah, they're probably non going to believe you, just take information technology hither." Got disc replaced.

If she bought them with a rewards menu they will have it in the system.

Probably makes up for the time I sold a game to them and simply included the "making off" dvd in the case. Well-nigh 2 years afterward after I moved out of land, I was going through some of my old games and find the bodily game dvd.

I've institute Gamestop to exist very flexible in general when it comes to panel games. I got a broken disc from there one time and they exchanged it no questions asked (I had receipt).
